ORANI, Bataan – The Orani Water District (OWD), due to its overall improvement in management and services, has been raised to Category B from Category C by the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA).
“There were different aspects that were taken into consideration for this raise in our category by LWUA”, said OWD General Manager Benni Andres.
“We have been adopting the computerization program that resulted to efficient completion of our works”, said the Ateneo-schooled manager.
“We have more than 1,100 household members and with this number we are already qualified to hire 100 plus employees. But with our computerization program, we have only 50 plus employees yet efficiently functioning, which means savings for us”, he explained.
With respect to their category raise Andres pointed out, “Our divisions will now become departments and as such division heads will become department heads, which means corresponding increases to their salaries as well as with all our other employees”.
For the past years, some of the officers and employees of OWD were recipients of citations and awards from the Civil Service Commission.
In 2012, the Orani Water District Operation and Management Excellence Team with Andres as Team Leader, was national awardee of the CSC Pag-asa Award. No less than former President Aquino presented the award in Malacanang to the OWD team.
Former LWUA Administrator Andres Ibarra had described OWD as one of the best managed water districts in the country and their members are assured of improved services including clean and quality water supply.
