BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), in its continuing pursuit of upgrading and strengthening the country’s transmission network, is poised to undertake several facility improvement programs this year.
Among NGCP’s commitments is to ensure that all facilities are well maintained and reliable, and with continuous monitoring and supervision of the facilities, it resulted to a preventive replacement program designed to mitigate any unplanned transmission outage.
However, according to NGCP authorities, to maintain 100% operation and strengthening of the country’s state of the art transmission facilities, they need the cooperation of our people with regards to transmission line safety.
NGCP encourages everybody to help maintain a reliable safe and secure transmission system by following their safety tips like, we should not fly kite near transmission lines as it might cause electrocution, do not put up antennas near or under a transmission tower, nor use it as foundation of your house, do not tie laundry clothes line in a transmission tower, and do not plant trees nor build your house under transmission lines and towers.
These and more, according to NGCP, will not only create good partnership among us but will surely benefit both NGCP and the people for a continuous flow of electricity, thus, continuous progress.
