Proposed Manila Bay Bridge project stimulates eco-industrial growth

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A senior member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) has anticipated a vibrant local economy with the projected construction of the Manila Bay Bridge connecting Bataan-Corregidor-Cavite which is a great leap toward the eco-industrial development of the historic peninsula.

Board Member Dante R. Manalaysay. chair of the Social Welfare and Development Committee has predicted more local and foreign capitalists  to  put up several manufacturing firms and commercial establishments in the province at the wake of the new infrastructure project.

Manalaysay said that the foremost investment consideration of a stakeholder when evaluating feasible location is accessibility to the vital production facilities and target markets which the proposed multi-billion dollar Manila Bay Bridge project offers to multi-national investors.

He cited the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between the provincial government led by Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia and a ranking official of China-based CSCEC Straight Construction and Development Company last week is a significant stage in the biggest infrastructure bridge project in the country.

The Chinese group reportedly is scheduled to undertake the necessary evaluation of the proposed bridge as to the underwater rock and soil formation survey, geographical analysis, structural foundation and other pertinent data in determining infrastructure integrity at the periphery of the historical island of Corregidor.

Manalaysay added that the Bataan-Corregidor-Cavite bridge project is listed as the top Public-Private Partnership investment mode programmed by Governor Garcia  as an offshoot of the province’s healthy economic expansion.
