PILAR, Bataan – Licensed gun owners in Bataan need not go to as far as Camp Crame to undergo gun safety seminars and comply with other requirements for the renewal of their licenses as the Mt. Samat Firing Range here is offering services for the processing of said documents.
Through the efforts of Gov. Abet S. Garcia, the Bataan Shooters club and former Pilar town mayor, now General Manager of Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) Charlie Pizarro, has offered to conduct gun safety seminars on March 7 and 8 in this town.
Aside from this, the Mt. Samat Firing Range has also offered legitimate gun owners processing of other requirements during what they call “caravan” slated on March 11 to 13, such as for license to own, possess firearms (LTOPF), and other services.
Securing said requirements and attending seminars in Camp Crame will take days aside from the long distance travel from here to Quezon City where the gun owners will queue up for hours. Expected to benefit from the said program are more than 7,000 legitimate gun owners in Bataan.
The Mt. Samat Firing Range, said to be the safest firing range, has been recognized globally after former Mayor Pizarro had invited shooters from various countries. It is situated beside the historic Mt. Samat shrine, now the favorite hangout of tourists coming to Bataan
