A better quality of life for PWDs in Bataan is for real

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – As part of their continuing public awareness program, the Provincial Council on Disability Affairs (PCDA) chaired by Gov. Abet S. Garcia, held last Tuesday, a Disability Awareness and Sensitivity Forum at the Bulwagan ng Bayan 2, Capitol Compound, this City.

Mr. Rolando Cortez, SATAMAKABA, CBR Inc. President warmly welcomed the guests and participants after the opening prayer led by Engr. Cecille Baltazar from the DPWH. Mr. Marilyn C. Tigas, PSWDO once again underscored the priority programs and services of the province for the well being of persons with disability and their respective families.

Attended by the council members and focal persons led by Ms. Christina May Ferma, Provincial Focal Person for Persons with Disability (PWD) the participants were given updates on disability, relevant laws and commitments as well as enlightened by the additional information on programs, services and other concerns tackled by Mr. Miguel Antonio P. Miguel, National Council on Disability Affairs, Regional Program Coordinator. A healthy and lively exchange of ideas ensued.

After the closing remarks of Mr. Dennis Garcia, SATAMAKABA Vice-president, the participants all went home with a renewed positive attitude that the attainment of a better quality of life for all is not just a dream nor a promise; it has taken a concrete shape especially for persons with disability.
