OWD upgrading facilities to better service members

ORANI, Bataan -The Orani Water District (OWD) is currently upgrading its facilities to better service its members. OWD General Manager Benni Andres said that they have started 5 components construction all scheduled to be finished this year.

The first component, well-drilling is already completed just awaiting the installation of pump and motor. The civil works has already started scheduled to end this year. The other 3 components of works are Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), construction of ground reservoir, and leak detection and monitoring set, all scheduled for bidding.

He said the installation of SCADA is for them to effectively monitor their operation. SCADA is a computer system for gathering and analyzing real time data. The bigger storage will be a glass-fused-to-steel, which is latest technology. It will be built in the boundary of Barangays Mulawin and Pag-asa.
Andres said that all the projects are for the improved delivery and reliability of source as part of the strengthening of the water supply. The fund of P101 million will be used for the 5-component construction, which came from a loan at KFW Bank in Germany though the Local Water Utilities Administration.
