CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – National Food Authority-Bataan Provincial Manager, Mrs. Adelaida C. Nuestro met with members of the local media on July 2, 2015 and invited them to join the agency’s team in the conduct of market inspections in Balanga City and Dinalupihan Public Markets to help assure Bataenos that the alleged proliferation of fake rice has not reached the province.

The team, headed by PM Nuestro and accompanied by POO Maribeth M. Magcaling, SEIO Alex G. Batac, PSQAO Bienvenido L. Timbol and Acting PIO Coco P. Reyes and local media personnel then proceeded to Balanga City Public Market to advise accredited NFA rice retailers and commercial rice traders to immediately report any suspicious-looking activities involving rice deliveries in the area. They were also told to be vigilant in ensuring that fake rice will not be sold to the public so as not to expose consumers to the health hazards that the consumption of fake rice will cause.
