OWD to build ‘of latest technology’ reservoir

ORANI, Bataan – The Orani Water District (OWD) is set to build a glass-fused-to-steel reservoir, which is of the latest technology. OWD General Manager Benni Andres said the date for the bidding for the reservoir project has already been set this second week of July. The pre-bidding conference was held last June 24. Much bigger than the existing tanks of the water district, the reservoir will be built in the boundary of Barangays Mulawin and Pag-asa.

The reservoir is one of the 5 components construction this year of the Orani Water District with P101 million fund, which came from a loan at KFW Bank in Germany through the Local Water Utilities Administration.

The first component, well-drilling has already been completed. The second component, civil works has already started. The 2 other components, which have yet to be started, are Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and the leak detection and monitoring set.

OWD will also be planting another 10,000 seedlings at the Tala watershed area, which they are reforesting for four years now.  The water district is nurturing 28 hectares watershed area, which is part of the Bataan National Park.
