BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula Sate University (BPSU) extension office director received an award from the Bataan Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) for conducting skills trainings among inmates at the Bataan District Jail.
The award was given to BPSU Extension Services Director Dr. Hermogenes Paguia in a ceremony for regional level at the Oxford Hotel, Clark, Pampanga last Friday, July 31 on the occasion of the BJMP’s 24th anniversary.
The BPSU Extension Services Office is implementing NC2 training courses that include bread and pastries making, food and beverages, tour guiding, housekeeping, basic welding, and front desk servicing for inmates at the provincial jail.
“Aside from imparting skills competencies, we also want inmates to enrich perspectives and values for their welfare”, pointed out Paguia.
Dr. Bernadeth Gabor, BPSU Main Campus Chairman of Extension Services, was also conferred an award for the skills trainings of Bataan inmates.
The Bataan District Jail bagged the most number of major regional level awards, which also included District Jail of the Year, Senior Warden of the Year, Best Welfare Award, and Best ALS Award.
The Mariveles Municipal Jail and its warden also got awards. Mayor Jesse Concepcion was also given plaque of recognition.
