Magpabilang, MagpaCensus on POPCEN 2015

City of BALANGA, Bataan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan is soliciting the support of Bataenos through the tagline “Magpabilang, Magpacensus”, to be counted and get involved in the conduct of the 2015 Census Population starting August 10, 2015 in the province. The reference date of the POPCEN 2015 is August 1, 2015, 12:01 am.

As an information campaign, most of the municipalities and their respective barangays display streamers which contain the POPCEN 2015 logo to familiarize people about the conduct of the census. The logo is a graphic art that contains a 5-person figure, a line sloping upward, a house and the census tagline.

The 5-person figure represents the estimated average household size of five persons per household based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing. The line sloping upward portrays the population figures, in graphical form starting with the 1903 census up to the 2010 census. The house symbolizes the basic unit of enumeration, which is the household. The lines of the roof depict the 17 regions of the country. The 3-line spire capping the roof represent the three main island groups of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Magpabilang. Magpa-Census! is the tagline adopted for POPCEN 2015 which encourages every person to be counted and get involved in census undertaking. The POPCEN 2015 to be undertaken this month will be the 14th census of population in the country since the first census in 1903. Moreover, the POPCEN 2015 will be the 3rd population census to be conducted in between two decennial censuses. Prior to POPCEN 2015, mid-decade censuses were carried out in 1995 and 2007.
