“…faster release of OR and CR in LTO Region 3”

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – “There is now faster release of OR and CR in LTO Region 3”, said Land Transportation Office (LTO) Bataan Chief Ronald Dabu.

“From what I learned, LTO Region 3 can now release OR and CR even within 10 days”, Dabu announced to presidents of tricycle operators and drivers associations in the 11 towns and one city of the province headed by Bataan Federation of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (BATFTODA) President Rolly Rosal during a consultation meeting held at K Servico Branch Store here.

Tricycle operators and drivers in the province have been complaining of the snail-paced release of official receipts and certificates of registration for new motorcycles in LTO Region 3 reaching up to 5 long months.

The very slow release of OR and CR has been putting so much burden to the tricycle operators and drivers especially that most of the new motorcycles are acquired through loans from motorbike dealers.

Tricycles plying without OR and CR are apprehended by authorities thus they are unable to earn for their monthly obligation to the dealer.

It was learned that in the past other LTO offices in Luzon could release faster compared to LTO Region 3 prompting dealers and some tricycle operators to get OR and CR from them, but this is costlier and in the long term not really favorable to local tricycle operators.

“The LTO is seeking ways to respond to your complaints”, Dabu assured officers of tricycle operators and drivers associations.

The BATFTODA has been pressing to return to the LTO district the issuance of OR and CR for new motorcycles. Dabu clarified that it was a Department of Science and Technology (DOTC) administrative order that regionalized issuance of OR and CR.

Dabu added that he and Gov. Albert Garcia had already discussed and are finding ways to resolve the concerns of local tricycle operators and drivers. He said the governor already wrote DOTC requesting the return to LTO district office the issuance of OR and CR of new motorcycles.
