Bagac supports POPCEN 2015

BAGAC, Bataan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Bataan enumerator interviewed Mayor Rommel V. Del Rosario for a ceremonial enumeration to show support to the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015), at the Conference Hall of the Municipal Hall of this town last August 10.

During the interview, Mayor Del Rosario advised the enumerator, Ivy Joy Hernandez to maximize the time that the respondent will give to her to be an effective interviewer. The same advice was addressed to the other 28 team supervisors and enumerators assigned in this town who started the listing and enumeration last August 10.

As chairman of the Municipal Census Coordination Board (MCCB), Mayor Del Rosario also gave assistance in other census related activities such as ecruitment of census staff, provision of transport services, information campaign through tarpaulins and use of other facilities of the municipality.

Bagac Philippine National Police assured the enumerators of the security assistance to be extended for the census during their visit to the POPCEN 2015 4th Level Training at Fajardo’s Beach Resort on July 29, 2015. Bagac PNP staff distributed calling cards to the enumerator as contact information should untoward incidents arise.

Other MCCB members who showed support to POPCEN 2015 are Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Eugenia C. Galvez, Municipal Civil Registrar Mylin B. Ricardo and POPCOM PPW II Antonio N. Bergado. MPDC Galvez appealed to the enumerators to perform the task efficiently and emphasized the concept of “garbage in and garbage out”.

Carmela De Vega is the hired Census Area Supervisor for POPCEN 2015 who shall oversee the correct field operation in the municipality. Under Ms. De Vega are team supervisors, Mary Joy Pagaduan, Sainah Ann Senoreses, Fatima Raye Cruz, Diane Nicole Bergado and Venus Bautista who handle 3 to 4 enumerators during field operations.

The ongoing POPCEN 2015 is the 14th census of population in the country since the first census in 1903. Moreover, the POPCEN 2015 is the 3rd population census conducted in between two decennial censuses.

Previous to POPCEN 2015, mid-decade censuses were carried out in 1995 and 2007.
