CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Members of the Association of Tourism Officers of Central Luzon, Inc (ATOCEL) attend a two-day regional convention at the Crown Royale Hotel, this City.
Aptly themed, “One billion tourists, One billion opportunities”, the convention that started yesterday, August 19 is well attended. Among the participants are Tourism students from the Philippine Women’s University and Eastwoods College.
The two day conference is highlighted by the inspiring messages of Mr. Arwin Lingat, Hon. Liza Vazquez of the City of Balanga, Dir. Ronaldo Tiotuico, Ms. Amor Maclang, Mr. Luis Mencias, Mr. Michael Palispis, Provincial Tourism Officer of Aurora Province and ATOCEL President and Arch. Christina Banzon, Bataan Provincial Tourism Officer and 3rd ATOCEL Regional Convention Chairperson.
Topics discussed include Tourism and destination branding, Travel guides to tourism champions: Redifining the essence of tourism; Tourism as the new currency: Why investing in tourism is the leverage for growth and development in the region and municipalities; Brand ambassadorship and advocacy in local tourism; How bringing together in the right experiences elevates the land; Tourism and environment sustainable consumption production
The participants also engaged in a workshop on itinerary writing wherein they also had the opportunity to exchange ideas during the presentation of their outputs.
Before going home to their respective provinces, the participants will be going on a guided tour at the following: St. Joseph’s Cathedral (Balanga), Bataan WWII Museum, Amanda’s Marine Pproducts, Balanga City Wetland and Nature Prk, Bataan Tourism Center, Bataan Nuclear Power Plant in Morong, and the historic Shrine of Valor at Mt. Samat,
