BALANGA City, Bataan – The provincial office here of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Wednesday announced that Bataan generated investments of P577.3 million for period January 1 to July 25, 2015.
Nelin Cabahug, DTI provincial director, said that the amount of P457.2M corresponds to new investments while P120.1M are from renewed business registration. Some 2,203 new businesses created 3,739 new jobs in addition to 1,178 employment generation from renewals of 516 business firms or a total of 4,917 jobs produced for the period ending July 25, 2015.
Cabahug said that the business firms are involved in trading, service and manufacturing registered with DTI as sole proprietorship. She made it clear that the investments generated are only from companies in Bataan registered with DTI. There are other investments from companies registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and cooperatives listed in the Cooperative Development Authority.
Cabahug also reported that DTI has recently provided P2.1M-worth of equipment in Shared Service Facilities to Masagka, an upland farmers’ organization in Bagac, to improve the production of engineered bamboos. Gov. Albert Garcia and Rep. Enrique Garcia of the province’s second district provided P8M to the organization for the construction of its building and fences.
