Can a private company really operate with an outlook of public service?
BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is keeping local officials abreast of the latest development on its transmission operations including expansion projects.
NGCP Regional Corporate Communication Officer Ernest Vidal and Bataan Transmission Line Engineer Jo Tacorda recently visited Balanga City Mayor Joet Garcia and Hermosa Mayor Danny Malana informing the two chief executives of the implementation of their expansion projects to accommodate the committed generation capacity in southern Bataan. The electricity transmission company has a substation facility in Brgy. Balsik, Hermosa.
NGCP officers also participated last week in the regular session of Calumpit, Bulacan League of Barangay Captains. “We aim to reach out and hear the concerns of the communities particularly those that are hosting our power lines. We aspire to institutionalize the support we are extending to them”, pointed out Vidal. The company has also forged strong partnership with the media in its aim to regularly provide timely information to the public.
NGCP is a privately owned corporation in charge of operating, maintaining, and developing the country’s power grid. It transmits high-voltage electricity through “power superhighways” that include the interconnected system of transmission lines, towers, substations, and related assets. Earlier, Vidal stressed that NGCP is a private company operating with an outlook of public service.
