ORANI, Bataan – General Manager Charlie Pizarro of Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) said in an interview that accidents at the Roman Expressway decreased by 39% because of the implementation of the Speed Limit Ordinance.
Pizarro added that with the MBDA’s continuous implementation of the speed limit ordinance, he expects lesser accidents in the said expressway and hopefully it will be accident-free in the days to come.
Although GM Charlie cleared that as of now, they are still on the “dry run” process so as to give more time to the MBDA personnel to familiarize themselves on the use of the radar speed gun with the help of the NLEX officials and at the same time extend the information dissemination period to motorists.
Moreover, GM Pizarro said that this week, the NLEX officials will still be assisting them in the night mode operations and gradually after that week, they can officially apprehend speed limit violators by giving them tickets.
