CAPITOL COMPOUND, Bataan – In anticipation of the heavy traffic that is an offshoot of the capitol redevelopment plan, the provincial government has already addressed this by providing an additional outlet point at the Capitol compound, from the DepEd building, up to the Roman hiway (near Jollibee) in Barangay Tenejero.
At the moment, an 8-13 meter road is already accessible to the public, yet the provincial government is paving for a 19-20 meter clear road right of way so as to really decongest the heavy traffic at the capitol site especially in the morning and in the afternoon.
In the process, there are private residential houses that will be affected by said road widening. To avoid misunderstanding and to clarify the issue to the affected residents, Gov. Abet S. Garcia, thru the Provincial Engineering Office, Provincial Legal Office and other concerned offices called for a dialog with the affected residents this afternoon, July 27 at the Bulwagan ng Bayan.
In the said dialog, Engr. Enrico Yuzon of the PEO, clearly presented to the residents the entire plan of the government so as to erase doubts and apprehensions and most importantly, to dispel rumors of an impending demolition.
Atty. Joey Angeles, the Provincial Legal Officer together with Atty. Mark Soriquez were also present to provide enlightenment on any questions on legalities.
Mr. Chris Leonzon, in charge of the housing program of the provincial government, likewise assured those who will be adversely affected by this development, that his office is ready to assist them so that they can avail of the government’s housing program.
Engr. Yuzon on the other hand announced that once his office is done with the final lay out of the road, another dialog will be called for so that he can present it to the residents, and this will also help them determine the extent of assistance that the provincial government can extend to the affected dwellers within, the bounds of law.
In contrast to their grim faces when they arrived at the venue, the residents all went home with peace of mind and smiles in their faces, assured that the government cares about their welfare and that 1Bataan really works for them.
