Bags of blessings to pour in Balanga

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will be distributing “bags of blessings” to less privileged families in selected areas nationwide starting tomorrow, January 28, in celebration of the Chinese New Year. The kick off will be held in Taguig but the activity will last till February 2.

This is an offshoot of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed by MBFI and DSWD last January 23 at the DSWD – NCR Field Office in Manila. In the photo are MBFI President & GT Foundation, Inc. According to Mrs. Gloria Abejar, City Social Welfare Officer, Balanga City is the only area in Region 3 chosen to be a beneficiary of these bags of blessings. The DSWD Central Office determined the beneficiaries based on their National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction data bank, which the Regional Office validated ably assisted by the City Social Services Office.

Five hundred (500) families from Balanga City will troop tomorrow to the Doña Francisca Subdivision at 9AM to receive their bags of blessings. No less than DSWD Regional Director 3, Ms. Gemma Gabuya will be joining the activity tomorrow.
