Balanga City’s “Batang Sining” opens

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – City Mayor Francis Garcia recently opened in a simple program the 9th year of “Batang Sining,” a creative summer workshop for children/students of Balanga City held at the Magsaysay Gym, Bataan National High School.

Around 200 students from the different public and private schools in the City of Balanga participated in the summer class for the Arts, wherein skills in singing, dancing, ballet, theatre, photography, painting and instruments were presented to the participants.

Mayor Francis said in his message that “Batang Sining” which is being sponsored by the City government every year during summer, aims to give the children an opportunity to unleash their potentials thru creative arts, instead of just playing their gadgets or just doing nothing at home during vacation time.

City Administrator Rudy de Mesa also gave an inspiring message to the children, saying that the City government can only guide the children and help them but it is the parents who will push their children to achieve their dreams. City Councilor Baluyot also gave his message to the students and parents.

The workshop will be free for 1 week, and on the last day, participants will perform at the Plaza Mayor, Balanga City to show what they have learned from the workshop.

Now on its 9th year, “Batang Sining” started during the term of then City Mayor, now Congressman Joet Garcia.
