BALANGA City, Bataan – Bataan Bishop Ruperto C. Santos on Thursday issued his message for November 1, asking for prayers for the dead.
“The best and most beneficial things we can do and offer to our beloved departed during Undas are our prayers and offering Holy Masses for them,” the bishop of the diocese of Balanga said.
He said that going to cemeteries is not to have a picnic or to attend a reunion. “We go to cemeteries to remember them and their good deeds and that we are thankful to them for being part of our lives,” the Bataan prelate said.
Santos urged relatives to promise that they will not fail the expectations of their departed loved ones. “We must also ask forgiveness from them, in the same way that we must forgive their shortcomings,” he said.
The bishop also urged those going to cemeteries to follow authorities in the maintenance of peace and order.
