BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Bo. Central Elementary School (BCES) emerged as Over-all Champion in Athletics during the recently concluded Balanga City Meet 2016 held last November 24-26.
Benj A. Yuga, Grade VI-Mercury, and CLRAA delegate the previous year, dominated the field as he emerged 1st place in the following events: Javelin Throw; 1500m run; 100m run; and Relay 4x100m run.
“Lagi po ako uma attend ng training sa school at sa Garden of Olives tuwing Linggo para po manalo, tsaka gusto ko po ulit makasama sa CLRAA,”, said Yuga as he shared his secrets after winning almost all of the categories in the field.
Myiesha Kaye R. Gomo, Grade 6-Mercury and first-time athlete, bagged 1st place in 400m run and 2nd place in 200m run. Gomo and Yuga qualified as this season’s CLRAA delegates from Bo. Central Elementary School with their winning coach Mrs. Anecia L. Rapiz.
Mrs. Anecia L. Rapiz and Mrs. Rhodora Danieca Ann S. Fernandez are the school’s coaches in Athletics with Mrs. Glenn-Joy S. Guila as Sports Coordinator. Mr. Ramil R. Cubales, Principal and Mrs. Gay G. Caparaz, OIC, gave their full support to the athletes.
Other BCES athletes who won in the competition are Erickson DV. Cruz, 1st place Long Jump; 2nd place 100m run; 2nd place 200m run and 1st place 4x100m Relay; Gerome Calusor, 2nd place 1500m run; 1st place 800m run; and 1st place 4x100m Relay, Princess Joan P. Santos, 3rd place 1500m run; and 2nd place 4x100m Relay, Ronnie Cuenco, 1st place 400m run; 2nd place 800m run; and 1st place 4x100m Relay, Irish Mangabat,3rd place 400m run, Roxanne Caparaz, 1st place 100m run; and 1st place 200m run; Gayle Ann Altobar, 3rd place 100 m run, Aicelle Ann Salazar, Irich Hubahib and Jennelyn Alcantara 2nd place 4x100m Relay.
“Lubos ang aking kagalakan sa naging resulta ng City Meet. Sulit ang pagod ng mga bata gayundin ng mga coaches during the training. Nawa ay magtuluy-tuloy ang panalo hanggang sa CLRAA,” shared Mr. Cubales as he congratulated the winning athletes and coaches of BCES during the flag raising ceremony last Monday, November 28.
