BM Dominguez leads public hearing on PDAO creation

   The Chairman of the said Committee, Board Member Dexter “Teri Onor” Dominguez said this activity is pursuant to Republic Act 10070 otherwise known as the “Act Establishing an Institutional Mechanism to Ensure the Implementation of Programs and Services for Persons with Disabilities in Every Province, City and Municipality.” BM Dominguez is the author of the proposed ordinance.

   In 2012, the Department of the Interior and Local Government ordered the creation of PDAOs in all local government units that aims to ensure the implementation of programs and services intended for the PWD sector.

   Among the invited guests for the consultation are the provincial and municipal social welfare officers; chairpersons of PWDs, barangay officers headed by the Punong Barangays, chairpersons of social welfare and development offices and the chairman of Samahan ng mga Taong May Kapansanan sa Bataan (SATAMAKABA). Bataan Governor and Chairman of the Provincial Council on Disability Affairs, Albert Raymond Garcia is also invited to grace the event.

   At present there are more than 5,000 registered PWDs in the province.
