BPSU conducts techno-demo on mushroom production

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) has conducted technology demonstration and training on mushroom production in Barangay Cupang Proper, this city.

Dr. Rina Paguia, BPSU assistant professor and project leader, facilitated the training attended by barangay folks, Kaanib members, housewives, and senior citizens held at the barangay hall recently.

She said she particularly taught the production of straw mushroom (volvariella volvacea).

Cupang Proper Captain Norman Guila was very satisfied with the conduct of the training and wanted a repeat of the activity.

Paguia said upscaling the promotion of mushroom production is part of the university’s extension service program.

She added the project aims to commercialize the technology through community-based technology demonstrations and trainings.

She added that the technology demonstration and trainings are being conducted in the towns of Orani, Samal, Abucay, Balanga, Pilar, Limay, Orion, Mariveles, and Hermosa.
