Civilian group vows to work with PNP, LGUs

PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, Bataan – The Intelligence Support and Action Force ( ISAF), a purely-civilian group of volunteers deputized by the PNP-CIDG, vowed yesterday to work hand in hand with the police authorities and the local government units (LGUs) to ensure a more peaceful environment in this industrial province.

Led by its president Marcialito “Al” Balan, the group in full force, paid a courtesy call on Governor Abet S. Garcia yesterday at the Bulwagan ng Bayan inside the capitol compound. They were accompanied by Chief Inspector Rommel C Labalan, provincial officer of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

Impressed by their selfless efforts in serving the province of Bataan voluntarily, Gov Garcia lauded Balan and his group for their crusade in pushing for a more peaceful Bataan.

Gov Garcia told the group that the creation of ISAF come at a time when the province is now the preferred investment site by investors, saying some more locators have vowed to pour in their investment here particularly at the Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles.

Major Labalan informed the governor that the ISAF was officially recognized by the CIDG hierarchy after the group and the CIDG thru Sr. Supt Ismael Fernandez, regional officer based in Camp Olivas, signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the group to help and assist the CIDG in intelligence gathering and providing vital information about lawless elements in the community, among others.
