CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Led by the Schools Division of City of Balanga in cooperation with the City Government of Balanga, this year’s Brigada Eskwela officially started with a parade from Plaza Mayor de Balanga heading to Bataan National High School for the program proper this morning, May 15, 2017, this city.

Present in the event were Mayor Francis Anthony S. Garcia, Lorna V. Guinto (Education Program Supervisor 1 – ESP), Merlinda C. Dominguez, Ed. D (OIC – BNHS Principal), Carolina S. Violeta, Ed. D (OIC – Office of the Schools Division Superintendent), Leticia E. Eugenio (Senior Education Program Specialist) who all gave greetings and short introduction about the Brigada Eskwela. Also present were City Government Officials and Department heads, and representatives from Balanga City’s Elementary Schools.

A ceremonial turnover of donated paints and other materials needed in the Brigada Eskwela was also held.

Aside from that, there was a brief discussion about “Rabies Awareness and Prevention” led by Dr. Antonio Mariano T. Banzon (Department Head – City Health Office) and Dr. Billy Andrew E. Samson (Department Head – City Veterinary Office), and “Schools’ Safety Preparedness” led by the CDRRM Office.

With the theme “Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan” which signifies unity, this year’s Brigada Eskwela also comes with a unified hashtag which is #COBBrigadaEskwela2017 that can be used when posting about the Brigada Eskwela in all social networking sites.
