ORANI, Bataan – Former Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Administrator Andres Ibarra had described Orani Water District (OWD) as one of the best managed water districts in the country.
In fact, the water district, due to its overall improvement in management and service, has been raised to Category B from Category C by LWUA.
Boasting of a lean yet coherent workforce, OWD is effectively servicing its members. It has embraced Information Technology, optimizing its operation.
The water district has also been implementing a laudable reforestation program at Tala watershed area, this town, for six years now.
For the past years, some of the officers and employees of OWD were recipients of citations and awards from the Civil Service Commission.
In 2012, the Orani Water District Operation and Management Excellence Team with GM Benni Andres as Team Leader, was national awardee of the CSC Pag-asa Award. Clearly, GM Andres is defining the direction of the water district.
Andres, true to his Atenean academic upbringing, is driven for search of excellence. To those who really know him, he is someone not unfamiliar with meeting challenges.
He continually works to attain a high level of performance in providing quality water service to OWD concessionaires.
LWUA installed Andres as general manager of the then poorly performing OWD in December, 1994. He was born and raised in Orani.
