Empowered women of Bataan take center stage

ABUCAY, Bataan — The Bagong Sigla ng Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina ng Bataan (KALIPI) once again gathered for their annual general assembly and live the spirit of Christmas and the joy it brings, yesterday, December 13 at the Las Mariana Restaurant, this town.

Focal Point Person for Women, Ma. Concepcion Garcia warmly welcomed the guests and members telling them to enjoy the activities specially designed for them.

 

The KALIPI was organized in response to the need for genuine promotion of women development and empowerment by harnessing their strengths that will result to the enhancement and utilization of their full potentials as human beings. The Provincial Government of Bataan, thru the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) provides technical assistance and other services to achieve this. To date, KALIPI has 11,000 members from all over the province.

 

Yesterday, close to 400 members and leaders of the group gamely took part in the Christmas-themed sing and dance competition, parlor games, raffle draws and brought home noche Buena packages.

 

In the end, the women from Samal won first place in the sing and dance competition, with Orani and Hermosa coming close as second and third placers respectively.
