MARIVELES, Bataan- To further improve the delivery of public services and maintain the existing peace and order in this industrial town, local officials led by Gov. Abet S. Garcia and Mayor Jesse Concepcion distributed Monday a total of 20 rescue vans to the 18 barangays here.
Personally handed over by Garcia and Concepcion to the punong barangays during a simple blessing and turn over ceremony, said vans will also be utilized during emergency situations. This so far is the biggest distribution of such public service vans in this town.
Municipal Administrator Luis Gonzales said 18 rescue vans were distributed to the 18 barangays while the other two vans were detailed at the PNP and at the Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council office.
In their speeches, Gov. Garcia and Mayor Concepcion said that the vans aside from further improving the delivery of public services as well as the peace and order in their respective communities will also be utilized during emergency situations.
Garcia and Concepcion expressed their sincere desire and have been exerting their concerted efforts to maintain the existing peace and order here being the site of the Freeport Area of Bataan ( FAB) where more than 20,000 workers are employed in 93 locators.
The two local officials also cited the job generation program for the people of the province, particularly this town, where the locals here are given top priority in terms of employment and other benefits.
