Garcia inaugurates recreation and fitness grounds

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – City Mayor Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III, together with City Administrator Rodolfo De Mesa and city department heads, led the inauguration of a recreation and fitness grounds in Barangay Doña Francisca here yesterday.

The outgoing mayor and congressman-elect of the second district said the newly inaugurated grounds have the amenities that can accommodate both young and old Balangueños.

The place features a section for children with rubberized swings and slides while the senior citizen’s area has various exercise equipment.

In his speech, Garcia stressed the importance of having a place where young people can gather so they will not be steered towards harmful forms of recreation such as drinking alcoholic drinks, smoking or taking illegal drugs.

Barangay officials of Doña Francisca, officers of senior citizens’ and youth organizations also joined mayor Garcia in the formal opening rites.
