MARIVELES, Bataan – The local government of Mariveles, under the leadership of Mayor AJ Concepcion and Vice Mayor Lito Rubia is adopting the Performance Governance System (PGS) to improve governance and service delivery.
A few days ago, Mariveles local government officials, department heads and representatives of AFAB, NGOs, OSCA, and BUB held a two-day seminar workshop about PGS in Subic conducted by the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA).
“The mayor and vice mayor, and municipal councilors were present in the workshop”, said Councilor Tito Catipon.
“In the planning stage, there must be stakeholders present”, he added referring to representatives who also attended the workshop.
PGS is a successful management tool for local governments, civil society, and the private sector to work together on improving governance, service delivery, and community living standards. It enables public offices to articulate long-term development goals, organization- and community-wide accountabilities, and transparency through sustainable governance mechanisms.
