Mayor Roque opens Bataan’s “most modern town hall”

LIMAY, Bataan – Coinciding with their centennial foundation anniversary last January 1, Municipal Mayor Lilvir “Ver” Roque along with Vice-Mayor Robert ”Obet” Roque, municipal council members and employees led the ceremonial ribbon cutting during the inauguration yesterday of the new facade of their newly-renovated municipal hall.

Tagged as the most modern and first of its kind in the province, the newly-refurbished building is complete with escalators, glass walls, automatic sliding glass doors, state of the art communications equipment and giant LED screen installed on its façade.

After the formal rites, some officials, employees of the local government of Limay and visitors took delight in taking “selfies” right at the newly-installed escalators at the lobby of the modern town hall. Mayor Roque said the rehabilitation of the building is worth P30 million.

A cyber library to be located at the second floor beside the mayor’s office is also scheduled to open this year.

Limay is the 12th municipality in the province. It was formerly a village of Orion town until then Governor Francis Burton Harrison issued Executive Order No. 93 proclaiming Limay as an independent town effective January 1, 1917.
