MBDA tests speed radar gun operation

CITY of BALANGA, BATAAN – In line with the implementation of the Provincial Ordinance no. 4 series 2016 or the Speed Limits Ordinance, the Provincial Government of Bataan thru the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) in cooperation with the North Luzon Expressways and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressways headed by the Assistant Manager for Traffic Management and Safety Office, Mr. Dave Bautista conducted a dry run on the speed radar gun operation along the Pablo Roman Highway, earlier today.

On the field, a hidden speed radar gun using a pro laser video with night capability that will capture plate numbers, body number, identifications of the vehicle and even the driver, operated by a gunner and/or a profiler, was positioned in a specific place in the highway that will identify the speed of approaching vehicles. Then, a radioman will signal about the coming violators in the apprehending team positioned 2 kilometers away from the speed gun. Violators will be given a pamphlet wherein the ordinance was written for public information dissemination.

According to Jimmy Angeles, Administration Supervisor of MBDA, they will conduct a series of dry runs in different places of the Bataan Highways so that the public will be notified about the ordinance.

Present also in the testing are representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways Districts 1 and 2, Bataan Highway Patrol Group, and Land and Transportation Office.
