The CIDT has been in close coordination with the National Food Authority (NFA) Bataan in the conduct of this monitoring, and so far, has not found any anomaly in the grains business in the province.
On July 10, 2014 NFA Senior Enforcement & Investigation Officer (SEIO), Mr. Alex G. Batac accompanied the CIDT officers in their visits to Tria Rice Mill and St. Peter Rice Mill, located in Balanga City and Calungusan, Orion respectively.
Ms. Evelyn Tria of Tria RM and Ms. Rosemarie Reyes of St. Peter RM have expressed their cooperation with NFA and CIDT’s joint monitoring and inspection by readily presenting the documents and permits of their warehouses and grains currently stored in their warehouses. The group was able to confirm that no questionable activities were happening in said warehouses.
NFA Bataan Provincial Manager, Mrs. Adelaida C. Nuestro assures the agency’s cooperation and coordination with CIDT to ensure that illegal rice trade will not happen in the province of Bataan.
