PAO hosts orientation/seminar on the Procedures for the PGB Disbursement Transactions

 The following topics were presented and discussed with the aim of improving the various procedures especially on the procurement and payment of goods and services:

a.Process Flow and Documentary Requirements for the procurement of  goods and services 

b.Procedures on the Implementation of  RA 9184

c.Process Flow and Documentary Requirements for the Processing of Vouchers for the payment of  goods and services

The activity is one of the initiatives included in the Strategy Map crafted by the Provincial Accountant’s Office under the Performance Governance System geared towards the achievement of the Vision and Mission of Bataan.  It was well attended by some of the Department Heads and their designated personnel-in-charge of the disbursement transactions of their respective offices. Atty. Aurelio C. Angeles Jr., OIC-Administrator and concurrent Legal Administrator graced the event as representative of the Honorable Governor Albert S. Garcia who was not able to attend due to a very important business meeting outside the province.  Atty. Angeles commended the host office as well as the PGSO and BAC Office for the conduct of the orientation/seminar.  He said that the activity was set not to put the blame on a particular department but to seek unity, cooperation and support in order to achieve the goal of improving the existing procedures and documentary requirements regarding the disbursement processes of the Province.  In line with the Governor’s quest for excellence under the PGS, he urged the participants to remember and work on the Vision and Mission of the Province by heart. 

The host office ensured the activity to be interesting, informative and coupled with some spiritual thoughts and energizer.  The open forum, after all the technical sessions were presented, was successful in deriving well-taken comments, suggestions and clarifications from the participants.  After this orientation/seminar, it is expected that immense improvement on the procedures on procurement and payment of goods and services would be achieved immediately.  The pursuit for excellent public service will not end from here but shall be a never ending quest, not only for the host office, but for all the departments in the Provincial Government of Bataan.
