PNP Fun Run for a Drug-Free Bataan stirs awareness

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The recently concluded PNP Fun Run for a drug-free Bataan was well participated in by runners from different walks of life, despite the not so good weather.

PPSupt. Benjie Silo said that the Fun Run was a success in the sense that the goal of drumbeating the awareness among our people in our sincere campaign on the war against illegal drugs was fully achieved.

He (Silo) added that not only the PNP would want the people to know their continuing goal of clearing every barangay against illegal drugs and personalities, the Fun Run also serves as a way of “de-stressing” mentally and physically, every PNP member and stakeholder of the campaign, amid their busy schedules and the seriousness of the activity.

The Fun Run yielded 2,000 runners from public officials, officers and members of Lion’s Club, Coast Guard, TESDA officials, students, and civilians from different communities as well as reformists.

The exciting part of the Fun Run was the awarding of prizes to the winners in the different categories; P3, 000 cash prize went to the winners of the 10K run; P1, 500 cash prize to the winners of the 5K run and P1, 000 cash prize to the winners of the 3K run, both female and male participants.

Lastly, PD Silo said that Governor Abet Garcia always states that, he wants our constituents to know, thru different activities like this Fun Run that our drug-free communities are still the safe places to be for our families.
