PSA Bataan Joins Pilar Kasalang Bayan 2015

PILAR, Bataan – “I would like to ask the couples to give a round of applause to our Municipal Mayor Alice D. Pizarro and the Municipal Civil Registrar Haidee M. Gunio for a job well done bringing all of you here to this Mass Wedding” said by PSA staff Allan G. Bruno as he opens his message during the Kasalang Bayan 2015 organized by the Municipality of Pilar held at Bataan Government Center, Alauli Pilar, Bataan on June 19, 2015.

Mass wedding is one of the civil registration activities that the Local civil registry offices hold to bring the civil registration closer to people. Kasalang Bayan 2015 is an overwhelming success having 53 couples participated in the activity. Mayor Pizarro officiated the wedding ceremony.

The highlight of the activity is the spontaneous wedding vows made by the couple, Jerry Pablo and Ailyne Macalalag who were already living together for 15 years, to lead all other couples in the wedding rites. Also present in the activity is Municipal Vice Mayor Marino H. Caguimbal who delivered the opening remarks.

Mr. Bruno continued his message to the couples by discussing the importance of CENOMAR to ensure that both partners have no previous marriage. He likewise gave advice to make use of “Legitimation through subsequent marriage of parents” to those couples who have children prior to marriage and make sure that the marriage contracts that they were about to sign no longer have errors. Finally, he saw this as opportunity to make information campaign for the 2015 Census of Population which will start on August 10, 2015. Legitimation of children by subsequent marriage of parents shall be recorded in the civil registry office of the place where the birth was recorded.

PSA, formerly known as the National Statistics Office (NSO) carries out, enforces and administers the Commonwealth Act 3753 in the delivery of civil registration services as directed by Republic Act 10625, while the local registrar shall keep and preserve in the office civil registry documents which include marriages as mandated by CA 3753.
