SSS pensioners receive 13th month pay

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Social Security System (SSS) pensioners has started receiving Thursday their 13th month pay.
“SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Dooc already approved the release of about Php 22 billion for the 13th month pay this year which will be received by our pensioners from November 29 until December 7,” SSS Balanga Branch Manager Joel Villafuerte said in a radio interview.
“The additional cash benefit will be equal to one-month regular pension of the SSS pensioner,” Villafuerte furthered.
All pensioners are entitled to their 13th month pension including retirees and survivor pensioners.
However, partial disability pensioners should have received a full year’s pension for them to qualify for the bonus.
The 13th-month pension is an additional cash benefit given to SSS pensioners. The pension fund started providing the additional cash benefit in 1988.
