Street lighting project underway in Hermosa

ORANI, Bataan – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 1st Engineering District is rushing the installation of street lights worth P 42 million in Hermosa.

Engineer Erlindo R. Flores, Jr. said the four-kilometer stretch of Roman Expressway from the three barangays of Palihan, Culis and Mambog in Hermosa are expected to have street lights to provide better landscape at the town’s fast rising commercial center and industrial site.

He explained the putting up of 406 metal posts on both sides of the said expressway for the street light project would improve traffic for it result to safer and faster route from the entrance of Dinalupihan town toll gate of the Subic-Clark Expressway (SCTEx) in Barangay Palihan to the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) in Mariveles town.

According to Flores, the street light project is included in the DPWH budgetary allocation last year for the 1st congressional district of Bataan which is expected to be completed this year.

The municipal government reportedly would shoulder the monthly power consumption cost of the street light project, the first of its kind in the province.

In a related development, the DPWH 1st Engineering District is widening and concreting a section of the Roman Expressway from the Abucay intersection to Barangay Capitangan bridge with a budgetary allocation of P 32 million.

Engineer Flores, added that the road project is projected to improve flow of traffic  from Abucay town intersection and San Juan de Letran College road which is reportedly heavily congested during school days and the influx of tourists to numerous  upland resorts .
