Every teacher has the responsibility of determining how best approach the members of the class in order to make appeals that will be lasting.
As a teacher prepare to teach, he should ensure that he uses a variety of teaching methods from lesson to lesson. This may mean using something as simple as colorful poster or wall chart in one lesson and a list of questions on the chalkboard in another.
In additional to using a variety of methods from lesson to lesson, a teacher should teach each lesson with variety. Pupils, with their natural curiosity, respond well to a variety of learning activities. Youth also respond well to a variety methods.
There are many resources available to help a teacher chooses methods when preparing a lesson. As much as possible a teacher should keep in mind that as they prepare their lesson plan what methods are to be used in a particular lesson.
A teacher must have a definite purpose for using a certain method. He should choose methods that support and reinforce the main purpose of the lesson. A teacher should not choose methods merely to amuse learners and take up time.
A teacher must select methods that are appropriate and effective. Some methods, such as stories and using the chalkboard will be used far more frequently that others like panel discussions and games.
When appropriate, a teacher should choose methods that will actively engage the learners. Such is especially important if the teacher had not used a particular method before.
Every teacher has the responsibility of determining how best to approach the members of the class in order to make appeals that will be lasting. It is also essential for a teacher to understand that learners are basically good. It is also essential to know that the tendency of the pupils is to do a thing that is right.
It ought to be remembered that changes take time. Keep teaching patiently, using a variety of methods. A teacher must be consistently positive in his approach to the pupils. He should not be discouraged even if his pupils have a negative attitude in the class. Even if the learners seems to be getting little out of the lessons the teacher teaches, he or she will still have time to learn the lessons especially if teaching will be with a variety of methods. More so, the pupils will have the opportunity to be with a loving and caring teacher.
When a teacher teaches moral values, he is teaching things that are intangible. Perhaps no teaching is so difficult to accomplish, nor so rewarding when successfully done. There are techniques or methods to employ or tools to use. There are things that teachers can do to prepare themselves and their lessons so that their pupils can be taught and the lessons can be conveyed from one learner to another.
