Trainings conducted in coordination with LGUs

DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – The trainings conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) are in coordination with local government units (LGUs).

“We coordinate with local government units particularly agriculture offices for the conduct of trainings”, said ATI Region 3 Assistant Center Director Mario Lapitan.

“Our function is to train extension workers so in turn they can train farmers but there are cases when LGUs request us to directly cater to farmers”, he  also said.

“We also coordinate with state colleges and universities and accredited organizations”, added the UPLB-educated ATI officer.

Earlier, ATI 3 Center Director Veronica Concepcion V. Esguerra said the trainings they are providing are geared towards the Department of Agriculture’s   thrust of   “affordable and available foods for Filipinos”.

“The direction of our office is sustainable food production as pushed by our DA Secretary Manny Pinol”, she said during her recent guesting in the program Radyo Balita at 91.1 Sikat FM.

A week ago, ATI 3 held a 1- day training for free-range chicken and duck egg production at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
