BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Tricycle operators and drivers in this City and their children are currently undergoing trainings provided by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Rolly Rosal, chairman of Bataan Federation of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (BATFTODA), said 68 are currently training on shielded metal arc welding at the GSO compound, this City which started on June 26 and will end July 18. Earlier 28 also underwent small engine training also from TESDA.
Rosal added that the tricycle operators, drivers, and their children are getting the training under the TESDA scholarship program. Said agency will pay the school conducting the training.
The BATFTODA chairman also stressed that aside from acquiring the skill, the trainees will also be issued the necessary NC2 upon completion of the training. He divulged that there are some who already have the skill but still undergo the training to get the certificate.
Right now, Rosal is also working for gas tungsten arc welding and flux-cored arc welding trainings for his members. The Balanga City government is fully supportive of these trainings.
