BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Superintendent Romell A. Velasco, Bataan deputy police director for administration and concurrent officer-in-charge of Bahay Pagasa Reformation Center, yesterday asked the former drug pushers to seriously maximize the benefit of spiritual reformation and technical skills training program as effective instruments to achieve economic prosperity.
Velasco said the establishment of three reformation centers in Bataan located at Camp Tolentino , police provincial headquarters; Barangay Lamao, Limay town and former 304 Army brigade headquarters would serve as deterrent to overcome the evil threat of prohibited drugs from destroying the bright future of the youth.
He stressed during a dialogue with 40 surrenderees that the use of illegal drugs is not a valid solution to a problem rather it would bring immeasurable misery to users in the long run which certainly affects family harmony.
He cited the socio-economic agenda of Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia confidently aspiring to make Bataan as the country’s preferred location for eco-industrial investments by year 2020, is a big break for former drug users and pushers to excel in the government technical trainings.
The Governor spoke on the looming technical manpower demand at the Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles town, several industrial firms are reportedly coordinating with other government agencies for highly-trained labor supply, Velasco said.
He added the latest economic growth registered in the province when Balanga City was selected as one of the 10 emerging cities which can attract Information Technology –Business Processing Outsourcing (IT-BPO) locators.
