Teacher Liza wins BYD EMAX7

A public school teacher from Morong is now the proud owner of a brand-new electric vehicle after winning the grand prize in the 269th Bataan Foundation Day raffle.

Liza Serrano, 31, a resident of Sitio Sampaloc, Barangay Nagbalayong, defied the odds when her single entry, a ₱100 raffle ticket, was drawn to win the coveted BYD eMAX7, the most anticipated prize in this year’s provincial celebration.

Serrano admitted she initially dismissed the news as a prank. “Noong una di po ako naniniwala kasi wala pa po post sa page ni Gov. Pero ang dami na po tumatawag sa akin na nanalo ako. Nung nakita ko na po post na andon pangalan ko, sobrang saya ko po di po ako makapaniwala”.

She claimed her prize during the official turnover ceremony on May 1, 2026, at Vista Mall Bataan, with representatives from the Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) present to assist in the handover. On top of the excitement of the win, the raffle carries a deeper purpose. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Bataan Cancer Society, supporting patients and families battling cancer across the province, turning every ticket into a contribution toward saving lives. For Serrano, the prize represents more than just a stroke of luck.
