DENR Bataan’s employees all yield negative in surprise drug test

PILAR, Bataan – All employees of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Bataan yielded negative result in a surprise drug test ordered by Penro Raul Mamac.

“No one knew of the drug test, which I led and all employees followed,” said the DENR Bataan head.

The unannounced drug test was facilitated by the Bataan PNP Crime Laboratory. “After 2 weeks, we received the results from the crime lab with the 47 officers and employees of our office including me showing all negative”, he said.

Mamac said he also ordered the drug test of the employees of Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Dinalupihan and CENRO Bagac. “We are just waiting for the release of the result of the test of the employees of the two CENROs from the crime lab”, he said.

“I will immediately relieve employees that would yield positive in the drug test especially those with job order status”, he warned. “This is a response to a call for a drug-free Philippines by President Rodrigo Duterte”, said Mamac.

PENRO Bataan is the first environment office in Central Luzon to facilitate office-wide drug test. DENR 3 Regional Director Francisco Milla Jr. had issued a memorandum commending the effort of the DENR here.
