FAB safety officers gear up for DOLE audit through GKK training

Qualified safety officers from various businesses in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) underwent a specialized training in preparation for the upcoming evaluation by the Department of Labor and Employment’s Occupational Safety and Health Center.

The Gawad Kaligtasan at Kalusugan (GKK) Training was held on April 21, 2026, at AVR 1 and 2 of the AFAB Administration Building, bringing together safety officers responsible for ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards.

Engr. John Paulo Lazaro, Bataan’s representative to the Board of Trustees of the Central Luzon Occupational Safety and Health Network and a member of the DOLE OSH Center Network in Region III, shared key insights on strengthening workplace safety systems. He highlighted the importance of strict adherence to national occupational safety and health standards and fostering a strong safety culture within organizations.

The training was successfully conducted through the collaboration of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan – Community Services Department (Labor Center) and Mitsumi Philippines Inc., which served as the event sponsor.

AFAB continues to partner with businesses within the freeport zone to promote safe and well-managed workplaces, while reinforcing its commitment to protecting the welfare of workers across the estate.
