SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) wants dissemination of accurate energy news.
“Press corps will be utilized in disseminating accurate, impartial, and comprehensible information about NGCP, and the power industry”, said NGCP Regional Corporate Communication Officer Fely Francisco.
The NGCP Bataan Energy Press Corps was formed recently aiming to work closely with the local media for effective power reporting and accurate information dissemination.
Elected officials were President, Mhike Cigaral (DZXL and CLTV 36); Vice President for Broadcast, Roel Tarayao (TV 5); Vice President for Print, Zeny Soriano (Bataan Primestar); Secretary, Josie Martinez (Net 25); and Advisers, Butch Gunio (Manila Standard), Jun Bringula (DWIZ), Lulu Levera (Bataan Chronicle), and JM Garcia (Philippine Information Agency).
NGCP is establishing press corps all over the country.
Francisco said the creation of press corps ensures proactive resolution of emerging issues before making public announcements.She added the press corps can also conduct a partnership program that will benefit the community such as but not limited to NGCP host communities in the province.
For his part, another NGCP Regional Corporate Communication Officer Ernest Vidal pointed out that although the creation of the press corps was founded on volunteerism, members are entitled to easy access to information and the opportunity to learn and understand more about NGCP and the power industry.
He said there are also sponsorship of trainings and facility tours and participation to press club-initiated events and activities.
