We are very pleased to present our 131 registered participants before cut off time and additional participants who registered on site and on the day of the event. Organized by Team Bataan headed by John Paul Reyes and Guillermo Mendoza Jr., the Bataan Loop Challenge Part 2 aims provide valiant riders out there the chance to experience the other half of the event they used to experience in some endurance challenge they had conquered.
Last April 29 before sundown, wanting to be first on the grid, participants were already at the venue for the checking of their motorcycles and proper gears led by John Paul Reyes and the rest of his team. Briefing before takeoff was likewise held to familiarize the riders and expectators on safety rules especially on the province’s ordinance on speed limit being strictly monitored by the MBDA.
At exactly ten in the evening, 123 riders from different places outside the region took off aboard their two-wheel vehicles with their proper gears and gadgets on hand. They obediently traversed the route from WDL Petron, Calaylayan, Abucay, Bataan going to the first checkpoint located at Petron, Mariveles, Bataan down to the zigzag of Bagac to get the token from the 2nd check point and finally to enter the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and claim the final token from the last checkpoint located at Petron (infront of Yatch Club) and back to where they started.
The challenge was a battle of each rider against him/herself for he/she must finish the route of 208 kilometers within 4 hours cut off time. Aside from finishing the route within the prescribed route and time, this challenge also promotes camarederie, self-discipline, obedience to rules and regulations in line with our transport system and also boosts the rider’s self-esteem.

While four were able to survive beyond the cut off time, only six of the participants were not able to cross the finish and 12 were not able to run since they had some errands to comply with. Some registered and paid the fee as a sign of support for the group and for the event. This year, the group is very proud and thankful to announce that no one was harmed or injured except for a few technical errors or miscalculations due to lack of street lights.
To all our supporters, fellow riders, sponsors and co-team members we are proud that we are one. We made it once more and hoping we’ll continue to be united in all our future activities, not only for Team Bataan but in the name of brotherhood and unity.
