DTI-Bataan wins “Integrity Award” on values photo contest

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In celebration of the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) 36th year anniversary, the central office launch the “2017 values photo contest, Our Values, Our Stories,” which epitomize the Department’s new vision, mission and strategy.

DTI-Bataan Provincial Director, Nelin Cabahug, in an interview, said that from the nine (9) original values, the new Department Secretary, Mr. Ramon M. Lopez reduced them into six (6) values this year, which include Passion, Integrity, Competence, Creativity, Synergy and Love of Country.

Ms. Cabahug explained that the contest mechanics clearly stated that these values need to be captured in photographs, that the photos should capture the essence of the 6 DTI values, as the employees accomplished their work, and it will be up to them which official entry they will submit, each office can submit multiple entries per value.

Out of the 400 photo entries that were submitted to the DTI head office that run from July 3-31 2017, after the final screening of the images, the awarding took place last Sept. 18, 2017 at the PICC, where DTI-Bataan Provincial Director Nelin Cabahug with Information Officer Teresita E. Magatanong received the 2nd Place award for their “Integrity Value” entry. Cabahug said that DTI-Tarlac got the 1st place and Saranggani got the 3rd place. She added that only Bataan and Tarlac, both from Region 3 are the only DTI provincial winners among the 400 entries in the nationwide contest.

The DTI-Bataan photo winning the entry was that of “destroying defective market weighing scales” which reflects DTI-Bataan values on Integrity, wherein they said, they do not tolerate corruption in any form, that they uphold the public’s interests, safeguard the people’s trust and steward of government resources.
