A five-day Lifeguard Training Program officially began on Monday at Blacksand Beach in Bagac, Bataan. The program is spearheaded by the PCG Special Operations Group – NCR Central Luzon and the Philippine Coast Guard, in partnership with the PDRRMO Bataan, PESO Bataan, Provincial Tourism Office, LGU Bagac, and the Bagac Beach and Inland Resort Owners Association.
The training aims to enhance the skills and preparedness of tourism frontliners, particularly lifeguards, to ensure the safety of tourists along the coastlines and in other water-related activities. The program runs until Friday, October 17.
Mayor Ron del Rosario warmly welcomed the guests and participants during the opening ceremony. He emphasized the importance of proper knowledge and training among lifeguards as vital partners of the local government in promoting safe and sustainable tourism in Bagac.
