Governor Joet Garcia, on Friday, led efforts to advance transport modernization as he attended the InvestBataan: EV Roadshow 2026, highlighting the province’s push toward electric vehicle (EV) adoption. The event, spearheaded by JCI Bataan in partnership with key public and private stakeholders, underscored a shared vision for a cleaner and more efficient transport system.
The roadshow gathered representatives from government, industry, and the private sector to discuss concrete strategies for accelerating EV integration in public transportation.
Participants explored how innovation and collaboration can reshape mobility in Bataan through sustainable solutions.
Among the initiatives presented by the provincial government is the rollout of EV charging stations across strategic locations in Bataan. This infrastructure aims to support the growing demand for electric vehicles and encourage wider adoption among commuters and businesses.
Gov. Garcia also unveiled plans to deploy electric buses that will provide free rides to Iskolar ng Bataan scholars, their families, and members of vulnerable sectors. In addition, the province is set to expand its Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) to create more livelihood opportunities and strengthen modern transport services.
Officials emphasized that these initiatives go beyond environmental protection, aiming to deliver more comfortable, accessible, and cost-efficient transportation for residents. The move comes as a response to rising global fuel prices, with partner companies reaffirming their support in building a robust EV ecosystem in Bataan.
